Reps. Norma Smith and Dave Hayes are inviting people to participate in town halls on Saturday held throughout the 10th District, which includes Stanwood, Camano Island and all of Whidbey Island.
The lawmakers hope to talk to their constituents about the progress and developments during the legislative session.
"We are at a very critical part of the 2013 legislative session, it is important we hear from the people we represent to discuss the issues before us in the Legislature," said Smith, R-Clinton, in a statement.
Hayes, R-Camano Island, will be participating in his first town halls as a newly elected representative for the 10th District.
"I'm really looking forward to meeting with families in my community," Hayes said in the same statement. "I know full well that people are struggling to make ends meet and now more than ever I want to hear their ideas regarding the services the state provides. I aim to ensure that those services are provided within our existing means," said Hayes.
The Saturday town hall schedule is as follows:
Stanwood: 9-10 a.m., Stanwood Community & Senior Center, Center Social Room, 7430 276th Street NW, Stanwood.
La Conner: 1-2 p.m., La Conner Middle School Commons, 403 N. Sixth Street, La Conner.
Coupeville: 4-5 p.m., Coupeville Library, 788 NW Alexander Street, Coupeville. Park in the lower municipal gravel lot.
