Prep softball: Glacier Peak 3, Newport 2 (5)

SNOHOMISH -- A two-run home run by starting pitcher Callie Bircher and an RBI single from Olivia Wenzel secured a nonleague win and a 2-0 start to the season for the Grizzlies. The nonleague game only went five innings, but it was enough for an official result and a Grizzlies' victory.
