PG loses, Tips dormie

Everett now knows it will be playing at least one postseason game.

Prince George lost 5-2 to Kelowna tonight. That means the best the Cougars can do is tie Everett for eighth place. In order for that to happen, Everett would have to lose its final three games in regulation, and Prince George would have to sweep its season-ending home-and-home set against Kamloops.

If that scenario plays out and Everett and PG end up tied for the Western Conference's eighth and final playoff spot, it will come down to a one-game playoff, probably on Tuesday. With the Cougars losing tonight, Everett is guaranteed to host that game as PG cannot catch Everett in total wins, which is the tiebreaker. If nothing else, Everett's bus driver is relieved.
