You don’t have to pay the pipers to hear them play.
The Snohomish County Firefighters Pipes and Drums will join St. Patrick’s Day celebrations in Seattle and Everett Saturday and Sunday.
The Pipes and Drums will march and play in the Seattle St. Patrick’s Day Parade, which begins at 12:30 p.m. at Fourth Avenue and Jefferson Street, south of Yesler, in Seattle.
The parade route, along Fourth Avenue, winds north to the Seattle Center. For more information about the parade, sponsored by the Irish Club of Greater Seattle, and the Irish Festival following the parade at the Seattle Center, go to www.irishclub.org/parade.htm.
The firefighters band will also perform at 6:30 tonight and 11 a.m. Sunday at Shawn O’Donnell’s American Grill and Irish Pub.
O’Donnell’s lineup of St. Patrick’s Day events today and Sunday, in addition to the Pipes and Drums, includes Irish whiskey and wine tasting, soda bread baking, sheep shearing and an all-day Irish buffet beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday. For more about the events go to www.shawnodonnells.com.
