EVERETT -- Working the ball down the right wing in the 78th minute, Cascade's Jorge Heredia fought off defenders to free himself inside the box and hammered the ball in from 12 yards out to knot the score at 1-1 and help the Bruins earn a draw against Lynnwood in a Wesco 4A South matchup on Thursday night.

Heredia's goal came just three minutes after the Royals' Drammeh Momodou scored the game's first goal on a free kick.

"Early much of the game was end-to-end," said Cascade head coach Jamie Gay. "Lynnwood had quite a good number of chances to score early on. We had good opportunities as well. "Certainly when they got the free kick with five minutes to go, we couldn't hold back at that point. It definitely made for an exciting last five minutes."

Coach Gay noted that he saw improvement in his team's effort in just its second game of the season.

"(Tonight) was good, not great," Gay said. "That's certainly a change from game one to game two. To perform like we did against Lynnwood ... that's a good step change for our young, growing team."
