Prep baseball: Lakewood 6-6, Coupeville 3-5

ARLINGTON -- Lakewood took both games of a season-opening Cascade Conference doubleheader. The Cougars fell behind 1-0 early in the first game, but led most of the rest of the way after scoring five in the third inning. Coupeville threatened to split the doubleheader, leading 5-2 after their half of the fifth in the second game. But the hot bats of Andrew Bean and Hunter Fritz turned things around for Lakewood. Both went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, and the Cougars scored four in the bottom of the fifth to take a lead 6-5.
