Where were you born? How long have you lived in the Snohomish County area? What do you like most about it? I was born at Madigan Army Hospital in Tacoma. I've lived in Snohomish County since 1990. The best thing about Snohomish County is the people who live here. We have an amazing group of wonderful people who are fun, good-hearted and hard-working.
How long have you worked in Real Estate? I have worked in real estate since 2003.
What did you do before that? Before that, I taught high-school English, most recently at Marysville-Pilchuck HS and Lake Stevens HS before that.
What is your specialty and what does that mean for the people you work with? I have two specialties: First, I provide the kind of service clients are eager to introduce to those they care about. Second, I am an expert in negotiating short sales.
What is the most challenging aspect of what you do? The most challenging aspect of my career is juggling my work and personal life. I have to set clear boundaries around my personal life to be sure I'm both taking care of myself and spending time with my family. My work doesn't matter unless my family knows they are number one in my life.
What is the most unusual thing you've encountered while working in Real Estate? I've run into the people sleeping or showering, even though I'd call ahead.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to buy a home? Know what is most important about the purchase. Make sure your financial ability is there and put your best foot forward to make it happen. You have to know what you can do and where the market is. Ask your agent the best way to make it happen. Make strong, sound decisions you'll feel good about later.
What is one tip you have for someone looking to sell a home? Price it right. If it's priced right, you'll get an offer quickly. If it's priced aggressively, you'll get multiple offers quickly.
Why should someone choose you as their real estate agent? My clients love working with me because I tell them the straight story and I care. Because I help a lot of people, I can give them a good idea of what they can realistically expect. And I enter every relationship with a desire to help each client move forward in life as smoothly as possible.
What do you most enjoy doing when you're not working? I love spending time with my family and friends. We enjoy camping, playing board and card games, gardening, quilting, scrapbooking, and just hanging out and laughing. God has blessed me with two amazing children and a wonderful group of family and friends.
