FRIDAY

Lake Washington downs Kamiak for first boys lacrosse win

KIRKLAND — Reese Radke, Zach Oelsner and Hank Schmale all tallied hat tricks to lead Lake Washington to a 13-7 boys high school lacrosse win over Kamiak, Friday at the Kirkland Lacrosse Center.

The win was first of the year for Sammamish-Newport. Paul Barton had four goals for Kamiak, which evened their record on the season.

Lake Washington (1-1-0) next faces Sammamish-Newport (1-2-0) on Tuesday, March 19 in an 8 p.m. start at Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish.

Kamiak (1-1-0) next faces Snohomish (0-1-0) on Thursday, March 21 in an 8 p.m. start at Kamiak High School.

BOYS VARSITY DIVISION II

Jensen’s six goals lead Shorecrest over Meadowdale

SHORELINE – Athan Jensen scored six goals to drive Shorecrest to their second win of the boys high school lacrosse season with a 13-12 defeat of Meadowdale, Friday at Shorecrest High School in Shoreline.

Briggan Weaver and Ian Drieve each had three to round-out the top scorers for the Highlanders. Charlie Baillargeon had five goals to lead Meadowdale scorers.

Shorecrest (2-0-0) next faces next faces Everett (1-0-0) , Wednesday, March 20 in a 5 p.m. start at Walter Hall Park in Everett. Meadowdale (0-2-0) next faces Roosevelt (1-0-0) on Monday, March 18 in a 7 p.m. start at Mountlake Terrace High School.

Sehome-Bellingham edges Stanwood lacrosse in overtime

BELLINGHAM – Dylan Bruce scored five goals as Sehome-Bellingham powered to their second boys high school lacrosse win with a 9-9 overtime win over Stanwood, Friday at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham.

Andrew Hoemann had seven saves in goal for Sehome-Bellingham in the win.

Sehome-Bellingham (2-0-0) next faces Friday Harbor (0-1-0) , Saturday, March 23 in a 12 p.m. start at Friday Harbor High School. Stanwood (1-1-0) next faces Lynden (0-0-0) , Tuesday, March 19 in a 5 p.m. start at Stanwood Middle School.

Game Summary: Sehome-Bellingham 9, Stanwood 8 OT (Dylan Bruce, S-B, 5 goals; Zachary Lorenz, S-B, 2 goals; Aiden Sands, S-B, 2 goals; Zachary Morris, S-B, 3 assists; Andrew Hoemann, S-B, 7 saves)

GIRLS VARSITY

Snohomish girls shut out Overlake in second half to record win

SNOHOMISH — Amanda Hultz scored two goals and the Snohomish girls recorded their second straight win of the high school lacrosse season in a 9-5 victory against Overlake, Friday at Glacier Peak High School. The game was featured as the Washington State High School Lacrosse Game of the Week on The Lacrosse Network.

Kayla Petz contributed for Snohomish with a goal and three assists and with six ground balls on defense.

The goalkeepers in Friday night’s game put on a defensive clinic, as they combined for 30 saves on 38 total shots. Snohomish’s Daryia Tagg recorded 14 saves and Overlake’s Emma Howard had 16.

Overlake narrowly trailed by a score of 5-6 entering halftime, but Tagg did not allow a single goal in the second half and Snohomish was able to close out the win.

Overlake (1-1-0) next faces Lakeside (2-0-0) in a 4 p.m. matchup, Monday, March 18 at Overlake School. Snohomish (2-0-0) next faces Eastside Catholic (0-1-0) in an 8 p.m. matchup, Wednesday, March 20 at Glacier Peak High School.
