Budget gap threatens work of Sarvey wildlife center

Sarvey Wildlife Center, which rescues and rehabilitates wildlife in Snohomish, King and Pierce counties, is gearing up for the busy spring and summer season. Wildlife baby season starts soon, and it's a busy time for the center.

Sarvey is asking for help on a fundraising drive to allow them to continue their work. The center is facing a $95,000 budget shortfall.

According to a press release, "Every spring and summer, thousands of animals arrive at the center. Without the funds in place to purchase food, formula, medicine, and supplies, we will be forced to make drastic cuts. Last year, 3,494 animals were brought to the center. These animals will have no other options this season, as there are not enough wildlife facilities in the Puget Sound area to absorb the overflow."
