Mukilteo City Councilwoman Jennifer Gregerson has announced she will run for mayor this coming fall.

Joe Marine, who was first elected in 2005 and returned to office in 2009, will be up for re-election.

Gregerson, 34, was first elected to the City Council in 2003 and was re-elected in 2007 and 2011.

A Mukilteo native, Gregerson served as council president in 2005 and 2006 and vice president in 2011 and 2012.

She works as a sales representative for Herff Jones yearbooks of Kenmore.

Gregerson is planning a campaign kickoff event for 1 p.m. Sunday at Rosehill Community Center, 304 Lincoln Ave. Light refreshments are planned.
