The Sounders signed defender Ashani Fairclough and midfielder Philip Lund Friday, officially adding to the roster a pair of players who have been training with the team since early in the preseason. Fairclough, 20, is a rookie who went undrafted out of South Florida, while Lund, 23, has spent the past four years playing professionally in his native Denmark.
Seattle also made official a move that head coach Sigi Schmid announced Tuesday, waiving defender Adam Johansson. The move, as Schmid explained earlier in the week, was made for salary cap reasons, and also because of the depth Seattle has at the position.
