Glacier Peak’s Amy Eloise-Neale finished 21st overall in the junior women’s division of the 2012 IAAF World Cross Country Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland on Sunday.
Neale helped the Great Britain team to a strong third-place finish at the championships.
Finishing with a time of 19:34, Neale was the third member of the British team to cross the finish line. She was in 18th place through the first two kilometers of the six-kilometer race, and stayed toward the front of the pack on the challenging course that featured ice, mud and a steep final hill.
Neale, who traveled almost 8,000 miles for the race, helped the British junior women’s team collect the first medal in its history, and the first for any Great Britain team at the World Cross Championships since 2004.
