Regarding the letter, “We get to decide what we need”: I guess you’d call me one of the “righteous folks.” I do have a question, though. Have you ever heard the saying “My freedom stops where yours begins”? Let’s just reverse that saying. “Your freedom stops where mine begins.”
I feel I have a right to feel safe in America. People running around with AK47(s) or AR15(s) slung over their backs on the campus or in the rotunda of the state capital in Olympia do not make me feel safe at all. I also cannot believe this should, in any way, be lawful either. I also wonder if some day I will witness a mentally ill, or just a vicious person going on a rampage in a shopping center armed with one of these rifles that has a 30-round (or more) clip. It’s time for all people to grow up and realize that they are helping to make America a very dangerous place to live.
Oh, and by the way contrary to public opinion, the NRA could give a hoot about the USA Constitution or Americans in general. The NRA is only about greed, money and power, period.
Yes, I’m righteous enough to think my safety and peace of mind are very important indeed.
These weapons need to be banned and background checks need to be made absolute.
When your “rights” become a danger to society then you lose those rights.
Get it?
