President Obama

Closing control towers is so wrong

SHARE: facebook Twitter icon Linkedin icon Google+ icon Email icon |  PRINTER-FRIENDLY  |  COMMENTS
The Obama administration is closing five regional-contract air traffic control towers due to the supposed budget cuts: Renton airport, Olympia airport, Tacoma Narrows airport, Felts Field in Spokane, and Yakima Airport.
So, apparently we have enough money for the Obama's lavish vacations, we have enough money to send F-16's to Saudi Arabia, we have enough money for the TSA to buy billions of rounds of ammunition, we have enough money to give do-nothing Democrats in Congress a pay raise, we have enough money to pay for a study of duck penises -- we just don't have enough money to pay for your personal safety, because you are one of those lowly unfortunates called a U.S. citizen.
Notice that it is contract towers that are going to be closed -- staffed by private companies -- not the towers staffed by FAA employees. These towers are distributed across the state, in the most populous areas, so that you will be sure to notice.
Obama is going to make the budget cuts as painful to you as possible, so that as he tries to make the case that it is Republicans' fault, he will get a sympathetic ear from you. Never mind that he has complete control of where the cuts are made, and could choose to cut his salary, scale back his lavish vacations, cut the unbelievable amount of government waste -- no can't do that, because that would be putting the country, and you, first before his political agenda.
