Island County Commissioner Helen Price Johnson is spreading the word that an account at Wells Fargo Bank has been set up to benefit the Ledgewood community.
Donations can be made to the Whidbey Slide Relief Fund at any Wells Fargo branch, Johnson said.
Also, though access to the slide area is restricted to local neighborhood traffic only, all other public attractions on Whidbey Island are available to visitors, the commissioner said.

A question and answer session is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday at the Regency Care Center, 1355 W. Main St. in Monroe.
If approved, the tax rate would increase from 13 to 37 cents per $1,000 in property valuation.
Ballots will be mailed later this week to voters in Snohomish, Monroe, Maltby, Sultan and Gold Bar-area communities.
