A fund has been set up to help with the families who were victims of the massive slide that occurred on Whidbey Island on March 27. The slide destroyed one home and isolated many others.
Island County Commissioner Helen Price Johnson is spreading the word that an account at Wells Fargo Bank has been set up to benefit the Ledgewood community.
Donations can be made to the Whidbey Slide Relief Fund at any Wells Fargo branch, Johnson said.
Also, though access to the slide area is restricted to local neighborhood traffic only, all other public attractions on Whidbey Island are available to visitors, the commissioner said.
