First off, in case you missed it, here’s the stories that ran in the paper reviewing this season, the careers of the departing overagers, and previewing next season. A story about the upcoming search for a new head coach is scheduled to run in Sunday’s paper, so look for it there.
Secondly, an update on the season-ending blog series. The plan is to begin it soon. However, I’ve been perusing previous years’ season-ending blog series, and I’m realizing I don’t seem to have the same kind of inspiration I’ve had previously. It’s not that I have nothing to say. But in years past I tended have some sort of theme or structure to the series, or at least a few clever devices to introduce some of the essays. I’m struggling to come up with anything similar this year. Therefore, the series won’t get started until Monday. I’m hoping inspiration strikes sometime over the weekend.
Finally, some news for our youth hockey players. Former Silvertips star Tyler Maxwell, in conjunction with the Everett Youth Hockey Booster Club and Pro Edge Power Skating, is holding his Sniper Camp on April 26-28 at Lynnwood Ice Center. The camp is for players born in 2007 or earlier. The instructors include Maxwell, NHL linesman Vaughan Rody, Tips assistant coach Mitch Love, former Silvertip defenseman Paul Sohor, and former Spokane Chiefs star Mitch Wahl.
