The NFL announced its preseason schedule Thursday -- regular-season schedules will come out later this month -- and the highlight for Seattle is a trip to Green Bay to face the Packers on Aug. 23, a Friday night game that will be shown nationally on CBS. Game time is still to be determined
The exact dates and times for Seattle's other three preseason games haven't been announced yet.
A Seahawks' visit to Green Bay, of course, will bring back memories of last year's controversial finish in which Golden Tate caught -- or didn't, depending on your point of view -- a game-winning touchdown as time expired.
That the game is in Week 3 of the preseason will add to the intrigue because that is traditionally the preseason game in which teams play their starters well into the second half. So, there will be plenty of time for Seattle's vaunted secondary to match up with Aaron Rodgers and the Packers' passing attack.
Another noteworthy game on Seattle's preseason schedule is the Week 4 matchup at home against Oakland, the team that recently traded for Seahawks backup quarterback Matt Flynn. That game will be on Aug. 29 or 30.
The Seahawks open their preseason in San Diego, with the game to be played between Aug. 8-11. They then play host to the Peyton Manning-led Denver Broncos in Week 2, with the game being played between Aug. 15-19.
