Vehicular homicide charge in fatal wrong-way crash

SEATTLE -- A 25-year-old Tacoma man accused of driving the wrong way under the influence of alcohol and causing a fatal head-on crash on a Seattle highway has been charged with vehicular homicide.
King County prosecutors charged Michael Anthony Robertson on Friday in Thursday's death of 58-year-old Morgan Williams of Seattle, who was on her way to work.
Prosecutors said state troopers reported Robertson showed several signs of alcohol impairment and they found an open, nearly empty bottle of whisky on his front seat. Results of a blood alcohol test are pending.
Charging papers said he entered the Highway 520 bridge to drive east from Seattle to Bellevue but U-turned and began accelerating the wrong way back toward Seattle.
Prosecutor's spokesman Dan Donohoe said Robertson will be booked into jail after he is released from a hospital. His bail has been set at $1 million.
Arraignment is scheduled April 18.
