Two more landslides were reported Monday on railroad tracks in Snohomish County.
A non-injury landslide on Sunday derailed part of an Amtrak train in Everett near Howarth Park.
Another, larger slide was reported in the same area about 11 a.m. Monday, said Gus Melonas, spokesman for Burlington Northern Santa Fe, which owns the tracks.
That slide was about 200 feet south of Sunday’s slide, he said. It was about 100 feet by 10 feet. Debris was cleaned up by mid-afternoon Monday.
At about 12:30 p.m., yet another slide was reported, roughly three miles south of Mukilteo, Melonas said. It was about 20 feet by 10 feet. Crews were working Monday afternoon to clean it up.
Freight operations were set to resume by Monday evening. Officials were waiting on an engineering assessment before resuming passenger and commuter trains between Seattle and Everett.
If no other slides occur, Sound Transit will resume service Thursday, a spokeswoman said.
