Baseball Field Dedication Planned
The Marysville School District has planned the dedication of “Memorial Field” on Saturday, April 20, 2013. The field is located at the Marysville Pilchuck High School Campus, 5611 108th Street NE.
The varsity baseball field was named through the work of a district naming committee comprised of citizens and staff following the request to honor the memory of three key individuals who made a difference in the lives of students and others through their commitment, dedication, hard work, and heart for the game of baseball: Ray Ewing, former coach and teacher, Steve Opel, former coach and teacher, and Brad Baunsgard, former student.
The official naming and dedication ceremony will be held prior to a scheduled game between Marysville Getchell Chargers and Marysville Pilchuck Tomahawks, at 12:30 pm, game to follow at 1:00 pm — weather permitting.
Family members and friends of the honorees are invited to attend.
Questions about the dedication may be directed to Greg Erickson, District Athletic Director, 360-657-6135 or email greg_erickson@msvl.k12.wa.us.
