WSU professor upgraded to serious condition

SPOKANE -- The Washington State University professor who has been hospitalized since a March 30 assault has been upgraded from critical to serious condition.
David Warner is recovering at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane.
Pullman police say Warner, 41, received severe head injuries after he tried to break up a fight outside of Adams Mall on College Hill in Pullman.
Police have arrested two people, including Madeline A. Fouts, 21, of Snohomish, in connection with the case, and say they are trying to locate two additional suspects.
