STANWOOD -- A logging accident at the Pilchuck Tree Farm near Stanwood on Friday morning sent one man to the hospital with a broken leg.
Because of the rugged terrain, emergency crews couldn't reach the man on foot. The Snohomish County sheriff's helicopter crew was called to assist, sheriff's spokeswoman Shari Ireton said.
Medics were lowered to the ground to stabilize the man, 25. He was then hoisted into the helicopter and flown to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. An update on his condition was not available.
The entire rescue effort took about two hours.
