AUBURN -- An Auburn police spokesman says a northbound Amtrak train struck and killed a man Monday night.
Cmdr. Mike Hirman said the victim is believed to be in his 30s. He was not immediately identified.
The man reportedly was trying to cross the tracks at West Main Street. Hirman said witnesses report the man appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.
Auburn police are investigating.
