The Bellingham Herald reported that Keith Everett Miller pleaded guilty this week to second-degree assault after prosecutors offered him a plea deal that puts him behind bars for 24 months. Miller also must undergo anger management treatment and cover more than $19,200 in hospital bills.
Someone threw something at Miller's blue Ford Expedition at last June in a Ferndale cul de sac.
Charging documents say all three passengers in the SUV recounted the same story: Miller braked, turned around and sped toward three kids. After he shifted into reverse, he hit something, lifting the SUV off the ground. It was a 13-year-old boy. Then Miller put the car into drive and ran over the boy's abdomen.
The boy's ankle was broken during the incident.
