The woman told police that a man pointed a gun at her while he stole items from her north Edmonds home at about 2:30 p.m.
She described the robber as white, fit, about 5-foot-7 and in his 50s. A police dog from Lynnwood followed a trail apparently left by the robber while he headed to his car. A small, older compact vehicle, possibly a gray Honda, was seen in the area earlier.
As a precaution, nearby Seaview Elementary School was placed into lockdown while police searched the area for the robber.
