This week, the FHC staff is removing the turret from the M4A1 Sherman tank.
In order to restore the interior to its wartime condition, a few extras need to be installed. Unfortunately, some of these items are too big to slip down into the tank through the small hatches. But we refuse to blow our tops over such a challenge. The FHC employed a crane to pluck the 5-ton turret from the top of the tank and set it gently to the side. Now, we have unencumbered access to entire interior.
