The allegation adds to the mounting legal troubles facing Darian Tyler Sharpe, 18.
Sharpe also is charged with assault and attempted kidnapping from a June 2012 incident in which a Lynnwood man was beaten by three men. In that case, Sharpe is accused of threatening to shoot the man if he didn't get into a BMW with him. He's also accused of beating the man with a revolver when he refused.
The charge filed Wednesday alleges Sharpe broke the jaw of a fellow student with special needs on Dec. 4 during a robbery in a high school bathroom. He immediately was expelled.
Besides the jaw injury, the student lost consciousness, had cuts and bruises to his face and had a front tooth knocked out, according to court papers. He was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where he was treated for his injuries.
Prosecutors allege Sharpe recruited another student to rob the victim.
The juvenile co-defendant allegedly admitted choking the boy, a junior, while the victim was washing his hands. Sharpe then allegedly punched the victim in the head until he "dropped," court papers said.
The pair allegedly walked out of the bathroom with the boy's wallet, which contained $7.
That's when Sharpe allegedly handed the money to the teen and told him, "Here, you did the dirt, so you get the money."
The co-defendant told Mountlake Terrace police that he thought they just were going to steal the boy's money and he didn't expect him to get hurt.
The victim, who was 16 at the time, told police he remembers being beaten and then waking up on the bathroom floor.
The teen "was very frightened by the assault and could not explain any reason why someone would attack him," court papers said.
Another student witnessed the beginning of the attack and told police he came back with a friend.
By the time he got back, the victim was alone and bleeding heavily.
Mountlake Terrace High School students made cards for the injured student and raised money for his family.
