STANWOOD — Conner Tiland and Laurence Wanambisi traded assists, each scoring off of the other’s pass within 11 seconds of each other early in the second half of a win over Oak Harbor that clinched the Wesco 3A North title for the Spartans.
Jordan Schafer nearly had a shutout in goal, but the Wildcats narrowly avoided that fate when Daniel Ross scored unassisted with just 15 seconds remaining in the game.
Wanambisi also assisted on Stanwood’s first goal, a 26th minute shot by Colin Cuchna that gave the Spartans the 1-0 lead going into halftime.
