Prep softball: Snohomish 6, Jackson 0

MILL CREEK -- Alyssa Simons pitched a two-hit shutout and struck out 13 and Trysten Melhart batted 3-for-4 to lead Snohomish to a win over Jackson to clinch a district berth in the Wesco 4A North. Pitcher Sophia Frost led the Timberwolves by striking out 13 Panthers hitters in the loss.
