A new episode of their regional sketch comedy, "The 206," returns to KING-TV at 1 a.m. Sunday after "Saturday Night Live." The series will run through the summer, at least.
Good reviews from pilots of "The 206" earlier this year put the comic veterans of "Almost Live" fame on track for a comeback. "Almost Live" ended in 1999, but still airs in reruns.
"The 206" is a reboot of sorts, with new skits on current issues and cameos from some old "Almost Live" icons.
It's unknown if the big-haired starlets of "Lynnwood Beauty Academy" will make a reappearance. One can only hope.
Pilot episodes of "The 206" had spoofs such as "Renton Abbey" and "Weed and Marriage." A photo on the new show's Facebook page reveals father-and-son Cashman duo in Hazmat bunny suits looking like "Breaking Bad" meth-making kingpins.
Pat Cashman won't say what they're really cooking up.
"There will be some fun surprise elements," he said. "The sweet spot is local stuff."
The show is named after Seattle's 206 area code, but branches out to take stabs at Tacoma, Everett and Eastern Washington.
"We do not go as far as Idaho," Pat Cashman said.
There's something about Mukilteo in this weekend's show and ... well, that's all Pat Cashman is saying. The show will repeat at 11:30 p.m. Sunday on KING-TV.
Episodes of "The 206" are shot in front of a standing -- not seated -- audience in a studio inside a former Bellevue fire station.
For information about how to be in the audience, visit the show's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/the206tv or website, www.the206online.com.
