For the YWCA of Seattle-King-Snohomish County, National Volunteer Week celebrates individuals and organizations in Snohomish County doing extraordinary things to improve our community. This one week highlights the enormous contributions that volunteers make every day for the YWCA of Seattle-King-Snohomish County. We are reminded of the over 175 individual volunteers who gave tirelessly of their time and energy this past year. Many organizations are involved as well, including: the Edmonds Rotary, Mill Creek Women's Club, Service Alternatives, and more, who spend countless hours volunteering on a daily basis throughout the YWCA sites in Snohomish County. We would like to take this opportunity to thank the many volunteers who provide countless hours of service to the YWCA in Snohomish County. We would also like to mention the national average estimated value of a volunteer's time is a staggering $22.19 an hour.
We thank these individuals, groups, churches and youth in helping us to achieve our mission to "advance the quality of life for women of all ages, races and faiths, and their families." In support of this mission, the YWCA provides services to meet critical needs, promote self-sufficiency, reduce violence, eliminate racism, and achieve equal opportunities for all people." Without their support, we would not be able to provide the "hand up" that we do to the many people in need who walk through our doors here in Snohomish County.
