Rock's Cordingley wins Coach of the Year
Cordingley coached the Rock to a league-best 10-6 record in the regular season before being ousted in the first round of the playoffs by the Minnesota Swarm.
"This is a real honor," Cordingley said. "To be recognized with an award named after the great Les Bartley leaves me speechless. Les means so much to this game and to our league. I had the chance to play for him in Buffalo and he had a strong influence on me as a person and as a coach."
Cordingley took over the reigns of the Rock in the 2010 season and helped the team reach the championship game, losing to Washington 15-11. A year later the Rock returned and won the championship over the same Washington team 8-7.
Edmonton Rush head coach Derek Keenan finished second in the voting and Stealth head coach Chris Hall finished third.
The 2013 NLL season awards are determined by a vote of the league's Board of Governors, general managers and head coaches.
