Duch and Grimes named NLL All-Pro's

 

As the Washington Stealth get set to play the Rochester Knighthawks in the this Saturday’s National Lacrosse League championship game, two of the team’s stars were honored by league.

Forward Rhys Duch was been named a first-team All-Pro and defenseman Mike Grimes was named a second-team All-Pro on Tuesday.

In the regular season, Duch led the NLL in goals with 45 and finished third in points with 96. Duch was previously named an All-Pro in 2010 and 2011 – the Stealth advanced to the championship game in both of those seasons as well.

Grimes earned his first All-Pro honor after finishing second among NLL defenseman with 20 points (8 goals, 12 assists), third in goals, fourth in loose balls (95) and forcing 14 turnovers. The seven-year veteran was the league’s runner up for Defensive Player of the Year.

Forward – Garrett Billings, Toronto Rock (2nd selection)

Transition – Jordan MacIntosh, Minnesota Swarm (1st selection)

Defenseman – Kyle Rubisch, Edmonton Rush (2nd selection)

Goaltender – Matt Vinc, Rochester Knighthawks (4th selection)

Forward – Callum Crawford, Minnesota Swarm (1st selection)

Forward – Curtis Dickson, Calgary Roughnecks (1st selection)

Forward – John Grant, Jr., Colorado Mammoth (9th selection)

Transition – Jesse Gamble, Toronto Rock (1st selection)

Defenseman – Mike Grimes, Washington Stealth (1st selection)

Goaltender – Brandon Miller, Philadelphia Wings (1st selection)
