Published:
ENUMCLAW, Wash. -- Two inmates from the city jail in Enumclaw are back in custody after escaping overnight and forcing two teens to trade clothes.
KIRO reports the inmates were doing some work in the police station when they slipped away from the officer watching them about 9:30 p.m. One was caught about two hours later and the other was caught about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.
Two teens who encountered the men say the escapees mugged them for their clothes, leaving their jail clothes.
The inmates were serving less than a year in jail for drug and theft charges, but the escape and mugging could result in prison sentences.
