Everett man arrested in huge California meth bust

CERES, Calif. -- Officials with a Central California drug task force say they've seized hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine in a raid of a San Joaquin Valley home.
Working on an anonymous tip, agents with the Stanislaus Drug Enforcement Agency say they found 290 pounds of meth during a search of a home in Ceres Tuesday.
Agency officials say the street value of meth is about $9,000 per pound, making the drugs seized worth about $2.6 million.
Arrested in the raid were 23-year-old Victor Ramiro Torres of Ceres and 32-year-old Luis Bartolo Madriz Sandavol of Everett, Wash. Both suspects were being held on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine for sale and transportation of methamphetamine.
A spokesman for the agency says the bust is the largest methamphetamine seizure in its 40-year existence.
