EDMONDS — Police in Edmonds arrested a man Friday after he allegedly broke into a house downtown.
The man knew the people inside the home along Fir Street near downtown, Edmonds police Sgt. Mark Marsh said. The man threatened them with an ax and said he had a gun, Marsh said. The dispute reportedly was over some kind of debt, Marsh said. The incident happened about midnight and stretched into Friday.
At some point, the man broke windows in the home and caused other damage, police said. He ran away before police arrived but was later arrested.
He was booked Friday into Snohomish County Jail.
