Homes evacuated after gas leak in Lynnwood

LYNNWOOD -- As many as six homes near Lake Serene were evacuated Monday afternoon after a natural gas leak nearby. Construction crews working in the area accidentally cut into a gas line about 1 p.m. in the 5300 block of 144th Place SW, said Leslie Hynes, spokeswoman for Snohomish County Fire District 1.
Puget Sound Energy also was summoned.
No injuries were reported.
