Prep softball: Mountlake Terrace 6, Marysville Pilchuck 4

EVERETT -- Hannah Fickle hit 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI for Mountlake Terrace in a first-round victory in the 3A District 1 Tournament game. The Hawks also got strong performances from Maddy Kristjanson who finished 2-for-4 with a two-run home run and Kelsey Watson who had a bases loaded single in the sixth to give Terrace some breathing room. Room it needed when Haley Fritz launched a two-run shot in the bottom of the same inning for Marysville Pilchuck. Fritz also pitched well in the loss, finishing all seven innings, striking out 11 and walking just three.
