Seems Like Yesterday

50 years ago (1963)

The North Everett Lions Club met at Johnny Walker's Restaurant. President Frank Woltring presided. Club member Tony DiGuardi, of Laraway Cleaners, provided the entertainment for the evening when he showed a narrated film on drycleaning. Virgel Parcels spoke about Ladies Night and Leroy Carter informed members that they were to provide transportation for Camp Fire Girls to Crabapple Lake.

The Herald-Red Cross Learn to Swim Classes at Silver Lake this summer were in the planning sessions. The directors of the program were Nancy Rodgers, Peggy Knapp, Paula Irwin and Paul Osborne.

25 years ago (1988)

There was still time to register a favorite young person, 7 through 14 years, for the Kids Free Fishing Derby on Silver Lake, sponsored by the Everett Eagles Sportsmen's Club and the Everett Parks and Recreations Department.

Only a few tickets remained for the Ducks Unlimited Marysville chapter's annual fundraising banquet at the Marysville Moose Hall.
