50 years ago (1963)
Everett Horizon Fireside installed officers tonight at Trinity Episcopal Church. Newly elected president was Aleta Sundae and retiring president was Jane Gall. Other new officers installed were Judy McEwen, vice president; Nancy Cunningham, secretary; Michelle Mustell, treasurer; Teresa Schindler, historian; Barbara Brannon, inspiration, and Leslie Lindquist, publicity.
Winners in a poster contest conducted by the Auxiliary to Earl Faulkner American Legion Post in conjunction with its annual Poppy campaign were Don Hamilton, first; Bernard Dahlquist, second, and Kathy Haines, third. All three were students at South Junior High School.
25 years ago (1988)
The Snohomish County PUD’s emphasis on conservation, including weatherizing nearly 40,000 homes, was recognized by the Northwest Conservation Act Coalition with it Conservation Eagle Award. The PUD commitment to long-term conservation methods was on of the reasons it was singled out.
Domino’s Pizza in North Everett, South Everett and Marysville was having a Monday Madness ExtravaganZZa. Those with a throbbing head, quaking body, and other Monday blows, could revive themselves with a well-rounded meal that would smooth out the wrinkles of the day.
