Check out a free concert by Pretty Little Feet

The acoustic duo of Pretty Little Feet has as wide a repertoire as their hat collection.

This popular twosome are veterans of string instruments. They play traditional songs, taking us back to the old radio days. But they also mix in their originals, playing with excellent acoustic acuity — and always hats on their heads.

The duo, Matt Novak and Allegra Ziffle, give a free concert at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Everett Public Library auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett. The concert is co-sponsored by the Pacific Northwest Folklore Society.

Between the two of them, Novak and Ziffle have released six full-length albums and have been included on three compilation albums, two by major record labels: Righteous Babe Records and Shut Eye Records, according to their biography.

Their newest recording of mostly original music, “The Mountain Runners,” was released in May 2012. It is featured as the sound track in the documentary film “The Mountain Runners,” which chronicles the true story of the 1911-13 Mount Baker Marathon, America’s first mountain endurance race, their biography says.

Friends Novak and Ziffle have known each other for 10 years after meeting in Bellingham and playing music together. In March 2003, they founded Quickdraw String Band.

Two years later, Ziffle left for Olympia and began playing with Fast Rattler; Novak continued on with Quickdraw. After a stint in Portland, Ziffle and Novak reconnected in February 2009 and formed Pretty Little Feet.
