Weekend fun: Cars, music, beach walks and more

A tribute to the automobile: Cruzin’ to Colby is Sunday in downtown Everett. About 400 cars will roll through downtown, while crowds of onlookers admire the machinery. There’s also a public dance. Events continue Monday with the Show ‘n’ Shine. Read more in our story here.

Darrington Day: This free annual event celebrates the Darrington area’s history, culture and outdoor activities with live music, tours and exhibits. Details are in our story here.

Culture and music The Northwest Folklife Festival runs Friday to Monday in Seattle. You can hear music, try out dances and listen to stories from around the world. The event features hundreds of performers. Find details in our story here.

Explore the beach: Free beach walks are 11 a.m. Saturday and noon Sunday in Edmonds. For both events, meet at Olympic Beach Visitor Station. Wear rubber boots or water shoes. A ranger-naturalist will lead the one-hour walk that will introduce visitors to the intertidal zone. More details are here.

Work out, outside: Join a free total body conditioning class at 8:15 a.m. on Saturday Centennial Trail Head Parking Lot, 5919 S. Machias Road in Snohomish. The course is led by Amy Bomar, owner and education director of FIT Launch, a fitness training and education company. Get more details here.

Run, then drink: A group run, with beer at Scuttlebutt Brewery in Everett at the end, starts at 3 p.m. Sunday. You can run either a 5k or a 10k. Registration is $10, and that gets you a beer if you RSVP in advance. Get the details and RSVP here.

Art show and sale: A fiber art show and sale is 10 a.m to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at WICA’s Zech Hall at 2012 Producers Circle, Langley. The show includes scarves, jewelry, home decor and gifts. Learn more here.

See a tank: The Flying Heritage Collection will host its second annual Tankfest Northwest at 10 a.m. Monday at Paine Field, 3407 109th St. SW. There will be tanks, artillery, treats and activities for children. Cost is $12 for adults and $8 for youth. Veterans enter free.
