The Huskies can advance to the Women's College World Series for the first time since 2010 by beating the Tigers again Friday in Game 2. The 3 p.m. game will be televised on ESPNU. If necessary, Game 3 will be played at approximately 5 p.m. and televised by ESPN.
Inglesby started the game that became a pitchers' dual with Missouri ace Chelsea Thomas. Inglesby allowed just one run on four hits in six innings. Thomas took the loss, allowing two runs on five hits in the complete game.
Walker pitched the final two innings for Washington to earn her 18th victory of the year.
Washington tied the score at 1-1 in the sixth inning when Dani Braun, pinch-running for Inglesby who had walked, scored on an infield single by Shawna Wright. The Huskies scored the winning run in the top of the eighth. Kelli Suguro singled and reached second on error then scored when the next batter, Victoria Hayward, singled to center field.
