Thomas Jefferson is unbeaten this season (16-0-4). The Raiders, the No. 1 seed out of District 3/4, defeated Wesco South 4A regular-season champion Mariner 5-2 in a state-tournament game in Federal Way on May 15. Jefferson's quick, aggressive players proved too much for the Marauders to handle.
"Theyre a good team. Youve got to give credit to them," Mariner head coach Vince DeSimone said after the Marauders loss. "Theyre a really good team."
Brandon Madsen leads Thomas Jefferson with 18 goals scored. Isidro Prado-Huerta (14 goals, 15 assists) and Louis Alvaro Osornio (13 goals, seven assists) are also strong offensive weapons. All three scored in the game against Mariner.
Snohomish and Thomas Jefferson have two common opponents, Mariner and Federal Way. Snohomish beat the Marauders twice this season, inlcuding once in the regular season and once in the 4A District 1 championship game. The Panthers won by an aggregate score of 5-1, including a 3-0 victory in the district title game.
Snohomish also defeated Federal Way 3-0 in a state-tournament game on May 15. Jefferson edged Federal Way 4-3 when the two teams played May 8.
