The Everett Public Library continues its Books You’ve Always Meant to Read series with “Uncle Tom’s Cabin” by Harriet Beecher Stowe.
You can take part in a free discussion lead by Bethany Reid, a poet and professor at Everett Community College, of Stowe’s anti-slavery novel at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the main library auditorium.
Reid will discuss the historical and cultural influences of the novel and Stowe’s portrayal of African-Americans.
The Everett Public Library is at 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett. Call 425-257-8000 or see the library’s website, www.epls.org, for more information.
