Student found in Lake Stevens pool remains hospitalized

LAKE STEVENS -- A Lake Stevens High School student remained in critical condition Tuesday after being found unresponsive in the school's pool last week.
The student is believed to have been in a special-needs class.
He suffered life-threatening injuries in the pool about 11 a.m. Friday during a physical education class. A school lifeguard started life-saving efforts. Lake Stevens firefighters rushed the student to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett.
The student's condition was reported by The Herald's news partners, KIRO-TV.
The Lake Stevens School District, fire department and police department all have declined to release additional details about the incident. His age has not been released.
