EVERETT -- The Seattle teenager killed in a drive-by shooting in Lake Stevens late Saturday night was killed by a bullet that hit her in the neck, the Snohomish County Medical Examiner reported Tuesday.
Molly Conley, 15, died at the scene near the intersection of S. Lake Stevens Road and S. Davies Road.
Detectives returned to the scene Tuesday to look for more evidence.
The Bishop Blanchet High School honor roll student was visiting friends in Lake Stevens. She was a freshman at the Catholic school in north Seattle.
Although the shooting occurred inside Lake Stevens city limits, the case was turned over to detectives from the sheriff's office Major Crimes Unit who specialize in homicide investigations.
Detectives from the sheriff's office and Marysville are investigating at least four drive-by shooting reports from late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
So far, the sheriff's office has not released a description of the vehicle involved in the fatal shooting.
Detectives are asking people with information about the case to call the sheriff's office tip line at 425-388-3845.
