Paranoid? Who, me?

Rose-colored X-ray specs: With revelations continuing into the government's gathering of phone records and Internet data, President Barack Obama defended his national security programs as necessary to protect the country from terrorist attacks, while critics, such as Sen. Rand Paul called it "an astounding assault on the Constitution."

Really. How dare the government gather information to protect the country, after all the effort that corporations made to gather that information in the first place to sell us more stuff?


Encore! Encore! A string quartet from the Philadelphia Orchestra helped airline passengers stuck on a tarmac at the Beijing airport pass the time by playing an impromptu concert, including selections from Dvorak's "American Quartet."

A similar concert was not as well-received later than day when airline passengers were serenaded by Angus MacGregor's Bagpipe Sextet playing "Flight of the Bumblebee."


Incentive is all that's needed: With a special session set to conclude in a few days, time is running out for Democrats and Republicans in the state Legislature to agree to a budget, raising the likelihood of yet another special session and more cost to the taxpayer.

Or we lock up House and Senate together in one small, windowless room had instruct Angus MacGregor's Bagpipe Sextet to play "Lady of Spain" until a budget deal is reached.
