LAKE STEVENS — A nearly $5,000 reward has been set aside for anyone with information about the fatal shooting of Seattle teen Molly Conley in Lake Stevens on June 1.
The reward is being organized by the Lake Stevens American Legion Post 181 in partnership with Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound. The Lake Stevens City Council on Monday night voted to contribute $2,000 of the reward, an option allowed under state law, City Administrator Jan Berg said.
“I believe that there is someone out there who can help solve this crime and contributing to the reward fund is in the public’s interest to get this issue resolved,” Mayor Vern Little said in a prepared statement.
Conley was killed in a drive-by shooting about 11:15 p.m. in the area of South Lake Stevens Road and South Davies Road. She was 15.
The Snohomish County sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit investigation is ongoing, sheriff’s bureau chief Kevin Prentiss said Tuesday.
Detectives have been gathering witness statements, physical evidence and canvassing the neighborhood, he said. Additional investigative details are not being released at this point.

The family asks for donations in Molly’s memory to Mary’s Place in Seattle, Victim Support Services in Everett, and the Washington state chapter of US Lacrosse.
