More fallen officers to remember
Seattle police officer Nicholas Davis was overlooked in our report. His name doesn't come up when you search the Washington State Law Enforcement Memorial database for Snohomish County's fallen officers. Names are sorted by agency, and Davis worked in Seattle.
"Although Nick was a member of the Seattle Police Department when he lost his life in the line of duty on Dec 18, 1984, he was a long time Snohomish County resident," wrote his former wife, Pam Davis of Everett. "He grew up in Monroe and lived in Everett for many years. At the time of his death he was living in Snohomish County in the Canyon Creek area. So in spite of being with Seattle PD, he was a homegrown son of Snohomish County."
Our list also didn't include Seattle police officer Timothy Brenton. The Marysville resident died while on duty in Seattle on Oct. 31, 2009. The man charged in his killing has yet to go to trial. King County prosecutors are seeking to overturn a court ruling that effectively barred them from seeking a death sentence.
We've updated our earlier post to include details about officers Davis and Brenton. Do you know of other law enforcement officers who made their homes in Snohomish County when they lost their lives in the line of duty in another community? If so, let us know.
